A reboot of the Prince of Persia franchise - again - and a very successful one at that. WhileSands of Timeis almost universally acknowledged as a classic, the subsequent releases were the subject of much debate. AlthoughWarriororThroneswerent particularly badly received, they still struggled to meet the lofty heights ofSands. So, what do you do when a licence starts to flag? You reboot it, of course! Enter Elika, a striking young maiden whos far more than just the token love interest....

The Spirit (Gabriel Macht) gets a call (on his cell phone!) from Detective Sussman, telling him to get down to the docks. she whispers; The Spirit looks confused, contemplative, and leaves without an answer. Down at the docks, Sand and her comrades are shifting two wooden boxes. However, they are ambushed by the Octopus (Samuel L Jackson), who opens fire on them. Saref dives into the water, dragging the boxes with her, as bullets dart either side of her....

The Blu-ray presentation isnt bad, although we dont seem to have got the extended cut here. Its adequate work, but not much more than that. There are people paying tribute to the late John Ritter. These arent well presented, though, and theres nothing thats particularly missed from the final cut. You also get a few minutes of bloopers, and trailers forHancock,21,Men In Blackand Blu-ray in general. But it may be more of a luxury than a necessity....

Kevin loves neighbourhoods; they’re so friendly and welcoming, arent they? I sat back relaxed by large yards with trimmed emerald lawns and swimming pools, just before sparks flew. I shuffled to one side and gripped the arm-rest as eyes hungrily spied new neighbours and the heat rose. The stellar casting of the films formidable trio undoubtedly lubricates some fairly essential gears here. The racism is inescapable here, but you might well be right....

We review an imported copy of Batmans latest high definition Blu-ray adventure. But the main credit should go to the Nolans, Christopher and Jonathan. For this reviewer, though, it got no better than the ending. That just doesnt happen in Britain. So onto the Blu-ray. The clear highlight here is the absolutely stunning transfer of the film. Its hard to find the right superlatives to describe the 1080p image here, because its simply brilliant....

Remake is coming to cinemas in January. The final scene with the lovers and Woods is genuinely touching. Anyone whos seenShrekwill also find its central curse rather familiar. If they werent wintering as caretakers in a haunted motel where the ghostly inhabitants want them all dead. Cosmic overseer James Mason wants to rectify the mistake, but the body has already been cremated. Worse yet, Cannon isnt done trying to get rid of hubby....

And probably a book that should be devoured by the Vashti Narada. Goodalls book is less interested in that early career but prefers to focus on his involvement withWho. It has been assembled from an assortment of interviews and articles culled from the press or the internet. And not necessarily the most obvious places. Nor is it reassuring that he misspells not only Mark Gatisss name but also Big Finish....

And while its not quiteFinal Fantasyscale,Fable IIhas a size and majesty befitting a classy end-product. Albion and its landscapes are rich in both colour and variety. Ample regions with quests aplenty exist outside of the primary storyline enough for weeks of gameplay. After all, your main objective is to purge Albion of evil. And this is perhaps the one downside. But then, luckily,Fable IIs well-crafted world weaves plenty of others as well....

The Ghost Houseis a seemingly simple tale of a time-traveling house that suddenly appears on Bannerman Road. Sarah Jane discovers the anomaly in her dressing gown (of all things!) but the local milkman reckons its been done for a TV make-over show. We then discover that this specific place (and time zones) have been chosen for a reason. Ill let you guess (I shant spoil the surprise). Cole neatly divides the story between now and 1884 and expertly delivers some shivers....
