Changeling review

Has Clint Eastwood just directed Angelina Jolie towards her second Oscar? Hes, surely, one of the very best directors currently working in Hollywood. During this time, Collins was befriended by Reverend Briegleb, played by John Malkovich. The continual persistence and questioning of a grieving mother becomes a thorn in the side of Captain Jones. The Mist Blu-ray review

That, and of course one of the best and most ambitious endings of the year. But its a brave, taxing movie, and one that really deserves to be seen. The two-disc Blu-ray edition effectively mirrors the DVD. The highlight for this reviewer was Darabonts very informative commentary. you could catch our review of the DVD itself here. Its a fine way to catch up with it, although it stops short of being a must-buy....

Transporter 3: the We Liked It review

Our reviewing team for Transporter 3 were split firmly down the middle. Transporter 3demonstrated all of the points Id been discussing beforehand. Proof, indeed, that Freuds head would explode if he ever came close to this film. The humour inT3is arguably even more of an asset to it than the action sequences. The plot though remains ludicrously high concept, as is befitting for any self-respecting Jason Statham film. Ad content continues below...

Zack and Miri Make A Porno review

I was discussingZack and Miri Make A Pornowith a good friend and fellow Kevin Smith fan I know. He confessed that he was hoping for something in the vein of the classic Kevin Smith movie. Zack and Miriis not a classic Kevin Smith film. Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) have been friends since the first grade. (As someone whose tenth is rapidly approaching, I completely empathize with Zack and Miris situation....

10 things you didn’t know about Matt Smith

Want to know some things about the man who is replacing David Tennant as Doctor Who? Lets take a look… 1.Hes the youngest Doctor Who ever, aged just 26. Peter Davison, the previous youngest Doctor, was 29 when he took on the role. 2.Smith wasnt one of the bookies considerations for the role. Paterson Joseph and David Morrissey have long been the bookies favourites. Hence, he went off to study drama instead and embarked on an acting career....

Guinness World Records: The Videogame Nintendo Wii review

Heck, you might even like it. Youll need Nunchuks each for most of the records, but each inevitably breaks down into a little minigame. These, however, are often quite inspired. It sounds daft, but its surprisingly good fun. How quickly can you pop balloons? Can you get the highest score at, effectively,Asteroids? Can you balance a bus on your head? Or pull a plane? What we particularly liked was the encouragement it offered....

Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray review

Im now confident that at some point the majority will follow. Where its good, its amazing, but its not perfect throughout. The lack of involvement with her is quite striking. Its much more about the Good Fairies, and their attempts to keep the nasty Maleficent in check. Another strong aspect toSleeping Beautyis the storytelling, which is simple but direct. Its one that Ive seen pre-school children become entirely engrossed in within minutes of it starting....

24 Redemption review

Jack Bauer returns, as the first 24 television movie hits our screens. But is it a return to form? It shouldnt be the trickiest case to prove, we suspect. Can he save the children? Can we have a good shoot-out scene in the village? And will he snarl at a few people along the way? Chris has uncovered something untoward at work, and wants Roger to approach his mother direct with him....

America’s Next Top Model Nintendo DS review

Ill get this out of the way now. Ill explain why it turns out how it does. Firstly, the graphics are brilliant for a DS title. As a contestant in the virtual show, youre up against another nine virtual wannabes. Get enough questions right and hold those poses and you progress to the next week. Some are more successful than others. Rating: 3 out of 5

But the real reason to re-purchase this film on Blu-ray is the special features and digital transfer. The disc includes two well developed documentaries, Memories of Shell Beach and Architecture of Dreams. Film: Rating: 3 out of 5

The Lost Boys Blu-ray review

Another 80s classic moves into hi-def. Remember when Joel Schumacher made good films and it was cool to have tassels on your leather jacket? WellLost Boysis back, and this time in Blu-ray. Lost Boyswas, at the time, the epitome of cool. Well, not too badly at all. It also seems that some scenes have not really been given the technical TLC they should have. It covers everything from vampire mythology and special effects to the social impact of the film....

Trackmania Nintendo DS review

Ryan checks out Nintendo’s take on the PC racing hit… The PC version ofTrackmaniaeasily ranks as one of the most exciting and joyful racing games ever created. When the DS version ofTrackmaniawas announced, I was intrigued. Could the blistering pace, competitive play and huge variety of modes make it to the Nintendo intact? The answer is, somewhat predictably, not quite. This brings me ontoTrackmania DSs other big feature: the course editor....
