Shelter review

Mark finds a different film altogether from the one he was expecting in Shelter. The said killer is summarily executed. Yes, thats actually in the dialogue, more on which later. The point being that Adams condition is more febrile than psychological, and no one around him is safe. Ad content continues below Theres a workable horror film struggling to get out ofShelter. Yes, I probably am. Its inconsistent and occasionally preposterous, but for me at least, it fits comfortably into guilty pleasure territory....

Law Abiding Citizen DVD review

I can see where the scriptwriters wanted to go with the plot. The one really big gripe I had with this movie, though, was the murder of the family. Additionally, the ending was wrapped up so quickly I was left with a slightly spinning head! Extras on the disc mostly comprise of documentaries. The Film: Rating: 3 out of 5

The Day The Clown Cried: the movie Jerry Lewis doesn’t want you to see (not that you’d want to)

Not many people have seen Jerry Lewis' The Day The Clown Cried. And David has a good idea as to why that is… Legendary comedian Jerry Lewis is known for a lot of things. Whether performing onstage or starring together in movies, they were the hottest act in show business. The storyline alone is enough to make your jaw drop. Throughout the years,Clownhas been the butt of many jokes. (Actually, this would make a great pull quote for the DVD cover)....

A Serious Man Blu-ray review

Here’s our review… Midwest America, 1967. Thats not to say that the film lacks structure. Hes only really upstaged by Fred Melamed as Sy. The humour throughout is absolutely pitch-black, but there are still a fair few laughs. Into the more theological themes, Schrodingers cat continues to mewl throughout, making for a religious/physical odyssey. A Serious Manis either a tragic comedy or a comic tragedy. Trouble is, you might not be able to stop thinking about it....

Iron Man (Animated) DVD review

Warm up for the arrival of Iron Man 2 with the animated series' landing on DVD… Occasionally, well be joined by Fin Fang Foom, Grey Gargoyle and Living Laser, amongst others. Theres no suggestion as to why theyre working with Iron Man. Theyre also probably quite fearsome if youre a fan of the comics… Fing Fang Foom, really?! However, theyre portrayal in this series is bordering on comical and, dare I say, two-dimensional....

We Live In Public DVD review

A fascinating documentary that explores Josh Harris, and privacy in the Internet age. Essential podcasts for movie geeks

I find that listening to a podcast makes these moments infinitely more tolerable. Harley Quinn Smith and Jay himself. to name but a few. The banter between the hosts is excellent and occasionally the reviews descend into exchanges of insults. At the end of their in depth discussion they all provide a summary of their opinions. The shows usually bi-weekly, although from time to time therell be a longer wait between episodes....
