Jim Carrey returns to the physical comedy that made him a star in this adaptation of Danny Wallaces book.

Ten minutes intoYes Man, and you have every right to fear a tepidLiar Liarretread.

A night out with his friends?

Spending time with his elderly neighbour?

Heading off to a concert?

After all, this is the template weve seen before in Carrey movies.

And for the early part of the movie, youve every reason to expect that here.

Surprisingly though, thats not the path thatYes Mantakes.

If he doesnt, bad things tend to happen.

And then theres Norm, Carreys boss, played byFlight Of The Conchords Rhys Darby.

Still, there are, inevitably, some problems withYes Man.

Is he the physical comedian of old, or the more tempered performer ofEternal Sunshine?

You feel like hes trying to give you both.

Yes Man, though, is still a nice surprise.

Yes Man is out in the UK on 26th December 2008.
