There’s a good reason why Supernatural has earned the loyalty of this fan over 12 long seasons.
And here it is…
This article comes fromDen of Geek UK.
At the time I began watching fantasy horror seriesSupernaturalin 2005, I was a sprightly 24 year old.
Today, I am a less-than-sprightly 35 year old.
Assuming each episode runs for approximately 42 minutes, thats 5,922 minutes.
Which equates to over 98 hours, or just over four days.
Supernaturalis currently in its twelfth year, meaning there are at very likely more after that.
Four days of my life.
It hasnt enlightened me or particularly entertained me.
Im not passionate about it, but neither do I dislike it.
There are countless other television shows that better deserve four days of my life.
Nobody I know watchesSupernatural, so theres not even anybody to talk to about it.
You probably watch a show thats been going for years which youve never quite given the chop.
So why still watch?
Undoubtedly, part ofSupernaturals appeal is its very inoffensiveness.
Some episodes are so middle-of-the-road that you’re free to practically see the white lines.
Stop the bad guys, save the world.
Perhaps that very middle-of-the-road nature keeps me watching.
Not thatSupernaturalhasnt occasionally tried to break outside of its original blueprint.
But thats all it really is playtime.
Nothing to really get too excited about.
Perhaps my continued affection forSupernaturalis predicated on nostalgia?
Robot, I can always return to Sam and Dean.
So Ill watchSupernaturaluntil it ends.
And will it all have been worth it?
But thats my head talking, not my heart.
