Warner Bros was more interested in pursuing the lighter world of Batman that director Joel Schumacher had uncovered.
But that didnt really last very long.
Not that Warner Bros lost interest, even if Burton did.
Ultimately though, Halle Berry would land the role in director Pitofs $100 million 2004 movie.
