Mark had been eagerly looking forward to Pixar’s Up.
However, Im not completely convinced by some of their movies.
I foundFinding Nemooverly sentimental andCarsleft me entirely cold.
Pixar has an enviable track record in memorable characters, plot development, stunning design and breathtaking animation.
Dont get me wrong: the film looks and moves wonderfully.
My issues are all to do with the subject matter, the character development and the overall pacing.
If this sounds heavy for a kids movie, then Ive painted it somewhat lightly.

Getting old is a reality you cant get a badge to fix.
But the theme and tone issues were just part of the problem.
The presentation I saw was in 3D, the first Id seen using the Dolby 3D system.
It was cute in places, but hardly earth shattering.
Those that rave about 3D are clearly experiencing something my optic nerves cant process.
But for me,Upnever actually became airborne.
