In some ways, its as big of a break-out as Depps first appearance as Hunter S Thompson.
And Amber Heard makes a beautiful, vulnerable young Chenault, while Aaron Eckhart is a great angry sleazeball.
The movie itself is visually stunning.
Even the less pleasant parts of Puerto Rican culture, like cock-fights, look beautiful.
In a subtle way, its as artistic as Gilliam, but not as showy.
IsThe Rum Diarya runaway success?
Its not great, but its very good.
