In many way,The Orvillemight be the TV series that Seth MacFarlane has always wanted to create.

I miss it, and I barely see any of it in hour-long drama.
I see a lot of it in comedy, but everything in hour-long drama is serialized.

There are elements of myself that I put into the character, he reveals.
