She ultimately does both, finally entering the Avatar State and preparing her forBook Two: Spirits.
However, her connection to her past lives is not restored; theyre gone forever.
Book Twohad a lot going for it.
It had a fascinating premise that built very naturally on the events ofBook One.
New characters were introduced, allowing us to delve into Korra and Tenzins family backgrounds.
I found it both realistic and satisfying to learn Aang and Katara were not perfect parents.
There were even some very welcome cameos byAvataralumni.
And, as always, the action in the show was spectacular.
Yes, sir,Book Twocertainly had a lot going for it.
That said, it was not without its problems.
Speaking of which…
What the fuck, Lin Beifong?
I hate to be a broken record, but…
More.
Like… tons, and not even new stuff.
Just a rehash of the same tired love triangle fromBook One.
Listen, I love me some romantic angst subplots.
No, no, no, no, no.
None of it felt natural or in character.
Look, I want romance onKorra.
It has its place.
All I ask is that its handled better.
Book Two had the opposite problem.
The highs and lows were pretty extreme.
Heres hopingBook Threewill even this out.
So, on that note, what do we know aboutBook Three: Change?
Book Three will focus more on the Earth Kingdom, earthbending, and metalbending.
Korra will learn to metalbend.
Well learn more about her past and her family.
More development for Jinora, including a possible romantic subplot.
Shes just about as old as her grandfather was in Avatar.
Tenzin will continue to be frustrated by everything.
Zhu Li will do the thing.
And thats just whats been confirmed.
Okay, that last ones not confirmed, but we can hope, cant we?
