Nora claims shes of sound mind, but shes combative, emotional, and barely fighting back tears.

Its just another example of a character on this show giving into blind faith to cope with their problems.
He compassionately grabs her hand and tells her that of course he believes her, because youre here.
That affirmation melts Noras defenses, and she smiles and cries tears of happiness.
