To be honest, this book was a difficult one to read, at least initially.
In the second half of the book, Jonathons journal skips whole decades, covering the events fleetingly.
Despite being considered science fiction, the book doesnt really feel like science fiction until the second half.
But on the whole, Brown seems more interested in telling a story of human emotion.
If you havent read Brown before, its definitely worth starting with this one.
