The Incrediblesarrived in November 2004, slotted betweenFinding Nemo(2003) andCars(2006).
Those makingThe Incrediblesbelieved in their story, characters and the technical processes theyd unleashed.
Its just not obvious how much they pushed the CGI envelope, because it all looks so seamless.
Nothing super about them.
Spoiled, stupid little stick figures with poofy lips who think only about themselves.
I used to design for gods!
The only character Im not overly fond of isThe Incrediblesnemesis, Syndrome, voiced by Jason Lee.
His monologues are overly long, although his demise is rather elegant.
Yet, its not just visual detail, its also auditory too.
But that view entirely ignores the collective dynamic thats generated and sustained throughout the running time flawlessly.
There are two commentary tracks, a couple of minor featurettes, and the shortsBoundingandJack-Jack Attack.
But other extra material which made it onto the multi-disc and DVD releases is missing, sadly.
If only half the number of superhero movies released were as good as this one.
