Brad Pitt and David Fincher reunite for Benjamin Button.

We review the brand new two-disc Blu-ray release… Fortunately, Ive got a comfy sofa.

I should state quickly that I quite liked the film.

We see him dealing with the fact that hes getting younger.

And we follow his romances, too.

What ultimately surprised me, though, is that the film didnt have that much to say.

But its still a surprisingly slight, if superbly made film.

But the picture is awash with detail even in the darker scenes.

Its hard to pick fault with, and its one of the finest transfers Ive seen this year.

Its a vibrant soundstage, and a strong mix.

The extras are plentiful, and spread across two discs.

David Fincher offers a strong commentary track on the first, and is clearly passionate about his film.

Its definitely worth a spin.

The golden extra, though, is found on disc two.

Its a peach of a documentary entitledThe Curious Birth Of Benjamin Button.

Id have liked a better, more pointed script, I guess, and a slightly shorter running time.

But despite my reservations, its still a worthwhile piece of cinema.
