Can people ever live happily ever after?
The Affairs explosive finale certainly has thoughts on the matter.
Never finished that one.
When hes point blank asked if he misses Helen, flashes of Alison go through his mind.
This new unencumbered attitude ends up getting Noah in trouble when he has sex with a fellow faculty member.
His publisher essentially tells him the same thing as he fawns over his new life.
Maybe he should have gotten separated forever ago, with all the wonders its doing for his life.
When Helen gets back into the picture, its equally exciting to see Maura Tierney let loose here.
This breakdown ends up being the catalyst that reignites their intimacy.
They make jokes, theyre raw, and they have sex again.
You cant help but feel that its these Alison-esque traits in Helen that bring Noah back to her.
How he truly got her, and if those moments and feelings can ever be recaptured.
That all of this has just been trying to scramble things back together since then.
So lets talk about them.
Because flashforwards and storytelling like this only work if its going somewhere.
If anything she minimized her own role in things.
She seems to genuinely love him and this doesnt feel like a game of any sort.
The biggest surprise though is that this allisntgetting wrapped up here.
I know myself and many other viewers assumed this would be a relatively contained one-season show.
She can say everything she wants in her interrogation to sway the truth.
With or without the Solloways and Lockharts.
