Jimmy Olsen, yes, that one, is now a superhero on Supergirl season 2 as the Guardian.
So why is this a big deal?
Jimmy Olsen is now a vigilante onSupergirlseason 2.
Guardians superhero origin story took all of two pages to tell.
Jim Harper was a rookie cop tired of getting his ass kicked on the job.
Thats really all it took to be a superhero back then.
And in the latest episode, Guardian stops a robbery at a convenience store called Newsboy!
Theres even a Guardian and Mon-El connection for youSupergirlfans.
That would be Jim Harper, the Guardian.
So, we have the first of the comic book Jimmy Olsen/Guardian connections right there.
Hey, it worked in 1942, and it works here.
But Jimmy isnt the first black man to wear the armor and shield, either.
Whats more, theres plenty of precedent for Jimmy as a superhero, too.
We…ummmm…will probably never see that happen here.
In that respect, its kind of fitting that James is carrying on the Guardian legacy on TV.
