Is this the best Star Trek film to date?
At least for another week, it might just be…
Star TrekPart Two: The Enterprise Saves JFK.
Or at least thats what it wouldve been called had the late Gene Rodenberry had his way.
As bad asTMPwas, it made money.
And money talks, so the inevitable sequel was born.
Thankfully then this isnt the Enterprise, but Starfleet training simulator.
That wouldve been embarrassing) and Kirk finally has to face death.
So what is it that makesTWOKsuch a stand out entry in the franchise?
Well, for one, its the performances delivered by the three main leads.
The scene with Kirk and McCoy on Kirks birthday is superb.
Kirk feels old, and that like his ship, his best years are behind him.
Meyer always described Kirk as Hornblower in space, and hes right.
and youve got the perfect recipe for success.
What more could you want from a movie, eh?
My only regret is having never seen it on the big screen!
