Sonic Generations brings two very different kinds of platform game together for the first time.

Heres Philips review of the Nintendo 3DS version… Single-player would naturally be your first port of call, presenting you with the main menu screen.

Classic Sonic is very much limited with his moves.

Modern Sonic has more moves in his armoury.

Jump again, and youll jump to it.

Naturally, as the levels go by, the special stages get harder, with more bombs and obstacles.

Its also surprising how many times you find yourself stopping as modern Sonic for sliding bits or platforming section.

I always thought Sonic was about rush, rush, rush.

I found the matching up of an opponent and the actual game a lag-free, easy and enjoyable experience.

And, yes, the favourite title is from a list.

Overall,Sonic Generationsis worth picking up if youve ever enjoyed either classic or modern Sonic.
