Id love to see a proper Hollywood blockbuster about Formula One (and no, notDriven).

But thankfully, they had a much better way of going about telling it.

Thats not to say it isnt cinematic, or even dramatic.

Its got its hero, dashing, dynamic, enigmatic and complex.

Its got a love interest.

This even occurs, impressively, quite often with Senna himself.

This is no exercise in peering at the past from a distance.

The story is as immediate and alive as if it were unfolding right before our eyes then and there.

And as time draws on, it just feels downright unfair that the storys heading the way it is.

For them, another especially notable feature of the film will be what it choosesnotto show.

Frankly, these sequences could make up the films entire running time and theyd still be fantastically entertaining.

The event is set against the context of the countrys economic crisis of the time.

Whats more, its a significant turning point in the films narrative.

Of course, for succeed, the film needs to appeal to non-fans, as well.

So captivating does it make its story, however, that its hard to see how it wouldnt.
