A reboot of the Prince of Persia franchise - again - and a very successful one at that.

WhileSands of Timeis almost universally acknowledged as a classic, the subsequent releases were the subject of much debate.

AlthoughWarriororThroneswerent particularly badly received, they still struggled to meet the lofty heights ofSands.

So, what do you do when a licence starts to flag?

You reboot it, of course!

Enter Elika, a striking young maiden whos far more than just the token love interest.

This doesnt meanPoPis a repetitive slog where youll be doing the exact same task over and over.

My comparison with Ubisofts much-hated release is simply with the structure of the world.

Couple this withPoPs acrobatic abilities, and you have a game that shares many elements with Altairs outing.

Very cool it is, too.

The most interesting character in the game is, as I said before, Elika.

Well, because, with her in tow, you simply cannot die.. at all… ever.

Elika follows you around everywhere you go, and is always on hand to help.

And help she will.

I thought, I can die now.

So, I carefully proceeded, being careful not to falter.

But, in a feeble moment of cack-handidness, I slipped, and went falling into an abyss.

Just free yourself then!

Dont get me wrong, this system isnt bad, and actually works very well.

But it is a double-edged sword.

Whats more, the whole How on Earth do I get up there?!

Remember using the triggers to wall run?

This time you simply press a button, and the Prince will do the rest.

I do like this game a lot.

Overall, the game just oozes polish.

Graphically its great, and the mix of cell-shading and more traditional fare looks superb.

Animation is spot on, and the design of the world is a great mix of fantasy and reality.
