Am I right in thinking that you hadnt read the comic before getting involved withPreacher?

Yeah, I didnt know it, I didnt grow up with it.

Id heard of it, but I certainly hadnt read it.

And then found what it was based on.

It reminded me of something like that.

And then when you read the comic, did that add to that feeling?

Well, I gathered that what theyd done was to decide to start the seriesbeforethe comic book.

Do you know what, it probably did.

And you try and avoid reading anything too analytical or critical of your interpretation!

There wasnt a moment where I was bored by anything, or felt like Id overdone something.

Ive never done a job like it.

I dont think it should be any more than that.

Its creatively perfect for the style of it.

Because were right at the beginning the series is pretty much a prequel to the comic.

Oh, theres so much but certainly, the darkness of Jesses family.

The grandmother, and the coffin!

Has the potential controversy been something youve had to consider?

I havent been too much… Purposefully or not I think its more just that hes got an interesting, dynamic mind.

But theyre best of friends.

And I think that sums it up.

And I think that makes for a very interesting dialogue between humans.
