Star Wars Omnibus: Knights of the Old Republic Vol. 2 (Dark Horse) Review

There are few tales more tragic than that of Ulic Qel-Dromas fall to the dark side. It leaves me wondering why no ones ever asked Kevin J. Anderson to write one of the movies. Volume 1 was a thrill ride filled with the incredible action-sequences and pacing of the best Star Wars stories. Not to mention that little Mandalorian threat in the Outer Rim. Thus began this epic coming-of-age tale full of lightsabers, punchy dialogue, and betrayal....

Ross Noble interview: Richard Briers, heroin, Chas & Dave

Our review copy of said DVD had no extras, which we duly reported. The thing is somebody could write, this DVD is absolute cack. This show isnt funny, and I hate Ross Noble. Revisiting BBC Radio 4’s The Hobbit

I have an inkling that it only sells maps now. The Hobbit, though, cunningly introduces the narrator as a character whom Bilbo interacts with and frequently interupts. As we are not following Gandalf on his journeys away from the main quest, this approach works well. A potentially fun romp involving cartoon physics on screen devolves into an overlong and patience-stretching set-piece. In the radio version, the Goblins are more cunning after the sudden and shocking demise of their leader....

Mob City: Red Light, His Banana Majesty, review

He made no bones about how he made his bones. People said he had a hair trigger temper and a great sense of humor. Just for a punchline. Its no wonder the LAPD is having a pissing contest over this guy. The men around him smell nothing but cow shit. He smells the money. Siegel had a vision. He was right, it would take a little patience. The LAPDs in the middle of their own turf war....
