This episode has generated quite a bit of response from fans.
People have either been absolutely head over heels for the season finale or left just shaking their heads.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in the latter camp.
They all have an awesome time.
Season 2 ends in the epic wedding of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor.
And who doesnt love a royal wedding?
Especially when it involves Twilight Sparkle getting a sister-in-law!!
The whole episode starts out with Twilight Sparkle working on editing a spell.
She casts it without really knowing what it will do.
And she doesnt notice anything change.
So off she goes with her day, but something is terribly off.
The normally beautiful weather is not so beautiful.
And thats when she sees poor Rarity attempting to fix the rain clouds.
Since this is so out of the ordinary, Twilight Sparkle approaches.
Then she understands what her spell has done.
Her spell has switched cutie marks and therefore everyone is destined to be doing things that make them miserable.
She does this by having ponies assist one another in the tasks they are good at.
Of course Pinkie Pie succeeds and the process goes on.
This was our favorite part of the episode.
Especially when Pinkie Pies hair goes from flat to curly again.
Thats how we know shes happy again.
So after all of this, Twilight edits the spell to correct the issues she caused.
And then she finds herself with Princess Celestia.
And Princess Celestia makes her a princess.
She also becomes an alacorn.
For people who dont watch the show that means she gets some sweet Pegasus wings.
Heres our first issue.
Since when do you become promoted to princess?
We thought royalty was one of those things you really had to be born or marry into.
After all, the author of this article is an awesome writer.
And hes been waiting on that princess promotion for MONTHS.

Second, really?
Is Twilight Sparkle any better of a friend than the other Mane Six?
Lets remember why all the ponies were completely miserable for most of the episode.
Because Twilight screwed up.
Theyre both good at what they do, but lets not go overboard.
Third problem is this whoe Twilight is now a princess thing.
Twilight Sparkle is already kinda boring.
And now weve gone and made her superman.
Not only is she on a really uneven playing ground with her friends, but shes super powerful.
No longer are Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy cool and interesting because they can fly.
And it doesnt fit with her character.
Twilight Sparkle is not one for fancy titles.
We predict she is going to be completely miserable as a princess.
If it estranges her from her friends shes probably going to give it up.
So there you have it.
We didnt really like it.
Having said that, it will be interesting to see where Season 4 takes us.
