Forbidden Zone

This movie is best described as batshit mental, but its certainly an interesting watch.

Very much like the film itself, the score is a wonderful, experimental oddity.

On the strength of this, its clear why Elfmans work appealed to Burton.

Its not unfair to say that the quality of the score vastly outweighs that of the film itself.

By no means a weak effort, its just one that lacks the character typical of the composer.

Thats not to say that there arent moments of originality and brilliance, because there are.
