James plods through an episode devoted to his least favourite Lost character… you might imagine, then, how thrilled I was by this episode.
Having contrived a situation, we now get to see how things ended up that way.
As a viewer, I find it both a little patronising, and a bit self-defeating.
We already know the ending, so wheres the tension supposed to come from now?
Ironically, after slightly complaining thatLostwas starting to lack structure, it seems the concept has returned in spades.
I hope Im wrong to be that cynical about it, but only time will tell.
He got all the best lines (My mother taught me.
sarcastic, and a lie!)
and delivered the only properly interesting side-plot with his brief appearance on the phone at the marina.
Evidence of cut scenes, or poor writing?
Its just a pity the note didnt actually say anything even remotely interesting.
That wouldve at least elicited some truly classic Matthew Fox gurnage.
That explains Daniels appearance in Episode 501.
Next week:The Life And Death Of Jeremy Bentham.
So, more guaranteed Jack appearances then.
