Oh brother, another Other.

The one US series with a definite end planned continues to blow Daniel’s mind… reveals, Desmond, explosions, pretty cool revelations, Desmond.

Without the familiarity of the flashback-to-present/flashforward-to-present structure, some moments just dont seem as dramatic as they should be.

Den Of Geek List of Lost

Last weeks Mrs Hawking cliffhanger moved us ten steps forward; this week we dawdled a bit.

And yeah, Charlottes inching closer to spasmy, Constantless death.

Look, we already know this stuff will happen its just how TV shows work.

So then how did this mostly unsurprising episode attempt to surprise us?

The name: Charlie!

And, er, thats about it.

And talking of her super-powerful dad… Charles Widmore was seemingly everywhere this episode.

An accidental time-traveller, but one without an anchor kinda like Minkowski.

Where does Widmore come into all this?

Oh yeah, hes only paying for all the medical bills!

Oh, but he also helped fund Daniels research so… thems the breaks, Theresa.

(Anybody notice just how little Desmond and Widmore actually seem to spar?

And how its usually over peoples secret addresses?)

As does the episodes big revelation: Widmore was an Other!

And he snapped necks!

And he had a problem with Richard Alperts leadership!

I hope we see him at highly dubious work soon, even if the Islands jumped in time again.

This is juicy, juicy stuff.

I bet you that the Widmore/Linus war is all just the result of next-door neighbours arguing with one another.

Or maybe Ben took Widmores place in the Others upon joining them?

Like I said: juicy.

Could a nuke have just turned everything on Craphole Island into something odder and weirder than it originally was?

And was the Dharma Initiative a self-conscious plan to make up for these mistakes?

And finally, how interesting would it be ifLostultimately was a classic science-fiction environmental lament?

Because I dont care for traditional scoring systems, Im calling it 3-2, Team Guyliner.

So here are my questions for the week:

Until about a month from now, ImLost.
