It was a great boost of confidence.
The first ten or so were already aired.
I was literally hired a week before they got the order for the back nine.
Thats a quick turnaround!
Certainly theres no competition for it.
And of course we hadJessica Jones, but thats such a different world.
Im telling you, it was the best experience Ive ever had.
It was so nice!
It was like, you have free range.
Well listen to you which is very rare in TV.
Ive never directed a female lead in an action.
Did you base her fighting style off anything in particular?
Shes actually becoming a badass fighter herself.
It was so unreal.
I was still working that day when they started talking about me!
Wow, you know?
I cant, because theyre very secretive about that.
That couldnt have been further from the truth.
Like I evenknowthe villains that are coming up!
In my episode, she hasnt revealed herself yet as Silver Banshee.
I was really pleased that I had that, because she made me look really good.
She made me look like I can direct comedy.
Was that something you thought about or considered when you were approaching this episode?
I did, when I first read it, but heres the difference.
Thats also part of us.
We actually do that as well.
Maybe we dont necessarily always step over dead bodies, but Ive also met womenlikethat!
That sounds awesome Im getting more excited for this episode just hearing you talk about it.
And also, Callista Flockhart, shesso I cant tell you.
And I didnt expect that going in.
God, I was so lucky to have worked with him.
Overall, it was the best experience Ive ever had working in Hollywood.
Yeah, I think the Berlanti camp has made a conscious effort.
So thats very encouraging.
And I actually see it quite a bit now.
Yes, it definitely has gotten louder.
I see a lot of white dudes jumping in on the subject.
It doesnt do us any good if youre getting all the writing jobs!
Theyre just not being trusted with action.
People dont like to take a leap for that, and thats something that has to be fixed.
Until people look at us the same way they look at men, we still will struggle with it.
