John tries to fix a hostage situation and Davin and Dutchs relationship all in one episode.

Here’s the latest Killjoys review.

Sometimes, its the ship.

Sometimes, its the interpersonal.

This week, its the latter.

What makes John a hero is, even when hes fed up, he still tries.

But John doesnt judge.

He sees something worth trusting in Pawter.

Besides, she did save his life only last episode, and he definitely hasnt forgotten.

There, they interact with the wayward souls of Westerley, the most desperate and underserved.

They help Alvis for the gift of his blessing, and John seems startled by it.

And we see how far Alvis web of resistance fighters stretches.

It seems like a fight is coming or, worse yet, a massacre.

Weve already seen that there is considerable resistance to that idea on Leith.

Normally, this would be sad.

In the life of a killjoy team, it could be deadly.

So Davin agrees to leave the ship and the team at least for now.

When Davin goes to tell John, John is hoping for his own healing of their fraternal fracture.

But, for now, its not meant to be.

He left John saddled with the debts of their father, unable to go to school.

He left him, period.

And John hasnt forgiven him for any of this at least partially because Davin has still not apologized.

But John still has Dutch.

Sure, it was always obvious why Dutch needed John.

But were understanding more about why John needed Dutch.
