Actually, the Necronomicon has a much shorter history than its true creator HP Lovecraft had his readers believe.

This, too, was worked into Lovecrafts stories, includingThe Haunter Of The DarkandThe Shadow Out Of Time.

And as Lovecrafts fame grew, so too did the strange influence of the Necronomicon.

Sam Raimis horror classic,The Evil Dead(1981) was clearly influenced by Lovecrafts work.
