We chat to the cast members of Fear The Walking Dead season 3.

This interview contains major spoilers.

If they bought a cow I would be eating grass by now!

I have to sort of sneak out as if Im like buying drugs.

I dont have them all in the house, I mean I have actually a storage area.

She does knows about it, but she doesnt visit.

Ruben Blades:It was discussed.

So even if they tell you Oh youre safe, youre okay I dont trust them.

Because tomorrow the theme changes for whatever reason and youre gone.

And thats the way it is, you come in knowing that thats in fact a possibility.

And so then I got the call.

So you got the best of both?

But, you know, its I missed them.

But its very intense when youre here.

Danay Garcia:I only just met him.

Oh yes, of course.

What do you mean you havent met him?

So, its like, I cant believe it, I hope he comes back.

I wanted to say this before.

Its the same in the UK.

RB:Oh really, they dont like subtitles in the UK?

DG:They hate the dubs.

RB:Wed rather get the subtitles.

We get John Wayne talking like [does a Spanish John Wayne impersonation!]

DG:Its horrible, yes!

RB:What the fuck is that?

He doesnt speak Spanish.

And then its Spanish from Spain, which is even more ridiculous.

I feel uncomfortable for my character.

So I had a little pushback with that.

So we even I wanted to make a choice and Deb wanted to make a choice.

And so that was a very conscious thing.

It was like he cant sound like Victor Strand when hes screaming for his life.

Hes going to sound hell go back to that inner child.

[At this point Kim Dickens enters…]

Kim Dickens:Im still in my costume.

CD:We were just talking about me.

Was that quite a prevalent thought for you and your performance?

KD:I know.

Its like the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

We learned last season just how responsible she felt for it genetically and yeah I think it is.

Is it difficult to work with different directors from one episode to another?

Were all trying to just to serve the best product.

RB:I think its more difficult to have different writers for each episode.

KD:I agree because it changes everything.

RB:Because they dont know you.

They dont really know you.

They know what theyve seen but, I mean, we all have our own perspective.

Have you ever had to go and dispute a character choice with them?

You know, its something bigger than you and youre alone.

We have something also unusual, we have the writer on the set.

Thats very unusual and thats wonderful in my opinion.

So you might actually ask the writer What did you whats the point in there?

thats wonderful I never saw another series that had that.

What are we doing in this moment?

Can we lose this?

Can we gain this?

But, yeah, theres usually someone there.

But television, historically, was always considered the writers medium.

Its considered the writers medium.

Has that been quite a difficult adjustment, especially for you, Kim?

And actually you, Danay and your character Luciana, just lost everyone that you were working pretty much.

Im thinking this sucks, then pow!

DG:Completely yes, totally.

Does that make a person stronger?

It just challenges you.

Ugh I cant wait until this is out of me!

So like that inspiration is totally true.

I mean you’ve got the option to only play injured for so long, I believe.

For me it was like okay, am I healing and how much is it?

Kim Dickens, Colman Domingo, Ruben Blades & Danay Garcia thank you very much!
