This week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead brought the terror and action.
Here is our review!
Fear the Walking Deadseemed like a different animal this week.
But what we eventually got, especially in this dark episode, is something way more interesting.
A darkness awakens in man and woman in Cobalt.
It took five episodes forFear the Walking Deadto come into its own, but it has.
Re-used set pieces, including Madisons unnecessary is someone there?
There isnt a walker kill of the week or someone mauled on an almost weekly basis.
Were meant to be the silent observors, waiting for the rats to start eating each other.
He tries to impress upon the frustratingly ever-neutral Travis that the walkers are no longer people.
I believe at some point Moyers even refers to the zombies as skin bags, which is fantastic.
Moyers orders Travis to shoot a barista zombie that is hobbling around a donut shop.
Its a cruel test, and one that Travis eventually fails.
Its great to see a bit more of the soldiers this week.
But these men arent the oppressive goons from those movies.
Instead, we feel just as bad for them as we feel for the survivors behind the fences.
We see the low morale behind the veil of success.
Moyers, alas just a red herring, doesnt make it out of that fight alive.
Hes calm, as he slices bits off Ofelias soldier boyfriend.
Its been fun to watch this guy basically play the anti-Herschel/Dale of this show.
Hes much closer to a Shane.
Their sudden need to smash things is a revelation.
Every generation of teenagers feels that its the doomed generation.
Next weeks season finale promises us a bit more action.
Its no accident that Daniel runs into that arena full of walkers.
I doubt theyll stay in there much longer.
Walking Points:
I really like watching zombie apocalypses unfold in hospitals.
Anton Chigurh clearly taught Dr. Bethany how to stop dead patients from reanimating.
Youre a heroin addict.
Thats the gold standard.
Dont sell yourself short.
