But thats not an accident, thats a very explicitly clear idea.
On how the new Doctor has changed things:
Jenna Coleman:I think the show feels very rejuvenated.
Its been a really interesting story to tell over the series.
Its all these changes and trying to figure out how this is going to work now.
He was thinking shes really great and she hangs out with me Im so cool.
Ill roll over on my back, shell tickle my tummy and that will be that.
Seeing Clara on the back foot, particularly in this episode, makes her very funny I think.
We had the perfect girl and we absolutely messed her head.
I sort of realised we couldnt just go for another Matt Smith punch in.
Many years later it just came into my head what if it was him?
I thought Id done it so badly and I was so out of the loop.
Unlike Peter said, I could show you that footage and he was fantastic.
Obviously its him, look at him, hes been rehearsing in his bedroom since the age of four!
and she was going its okay, what do you mean okay?
and she couldnt say.
I might have taken a trip there just to stand around.
The fun of it for me was that they didnt know I was the Doctor.
I was the only one who knew I was the Doctor.
I wont go back now!
John was wearing glasses so that really works, the Clark Kent thing.
Steven Moffat:Its an interesting one, how powerful that flirting thing is.
So we havent had a properly flirtatious Doctor for years really.
Watch Patrick Troughton in the first episode ofThe Enemy Of The World, hes practically climbing over her!
Its the beginning of that story!
On whether Peter discussed the role with Matt Smith or David Tennant:
Peter Capaldi:Yes.
Hes thirty years younger than me and hes on crutches!
What am I going to do?
Before it all started, David sent me an email saying is it true what Im hearing?
They were both wonderful.
But also, what does it mean?
His accent must be acquired randomly, it doesnt make any sense what accent he has.
Why shouldnt he be Scottish?
Peter Capaldi:And also, hes had an English accent for years.
The idea that he doesnt have an accent is ridiculous.
Funnily enough, I think the Doctor is closer to me than, for instance, Malcolm Tucker was.
There was a bigger leap, more stuff to do, more distance to cover.
[Agreeing with host Boyd Hilton] Iammuch nicer.
I have great respect for the people we have on the show doing it.
Steven Moffat:Im still reeling about I had a go at it you did win an Oscar!
You know that doesnt happeneverytime!
This isnt the right time.
I have to say though, it was absolutely fabulous seeing John Hurt as the Doctor.
We dont have to talk and of course the back of its often not there, and its dark.
I think in the future Im going to get a kettle in there.
This was discussed on set, its quiet in there.
I accidentally just said the truth.
No, not really.
I think the storys sort of done.
I thought what Russell did with that was so brilliant, because I did think it was over.
So no, the Doctor doesnt really need an arch-enemy, so well go for new ones.
So, sorry John Simm.
Peter Capaldi:I would like to doThe Dalek Invasion Of Earth.
Wear your anorak with pride!
