Immediately, Nathan compared his previous sci-fi show to his new one:
Less swearing, first of all.
[Laughs] Its less crude.
And it has more of a dramatic feel about it.
Were/are you a fan ofDoctor Who?

Obviously Im aware of it.
I guess because I hadnt grown up with it from an early age, it passed me by.
[Laughs] Especially after reading the script of the Christmas Special.
I absolutely loved it.
Genuinely, I was a bit like, Why havent I been watching this?
I cant wait for you to watch it.
What was it like to work with Nick Frost and how does he portray Santa?
I was a bit star-struck, to be honest.
For the first time with anyone that Ive worked with.
I grew up watchingSpacedandShaun Of The DeadandHot Fuzz.
At the readthrough, I had no idea who the rest of the cast were.
Is there another actor called Nick Frost?
Is this him???
[Laughs] He entered the room and I kind of had tunnel vision.
Hes probably the most iconic Santa I can think of.
I think itll kind of be the one that you remember most.
Did you get to working closely with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman whilst filming?
Working with the Doctor and Jenna who plays Clara so well was very enjoyable.
And it kind of went silent.
I didnt hear back for a few hours.
then she plucked up the courage to reply, I hate you!
I wanna be in that!
[Laughs]
Im looking forward to everybody else sitting down on Christmas Day and watching.
Its very much a trio between Santa [played by Nick Frost] and his elves.
Theyre a team, they look out for each other.
They go on a journey, to a lot of houses!
[Laughs]
Theyre there as unlikely heroes.
But I guess thats what hes called upon.
As soon as you put it on you are the elf.
I FaceTimed my daughter and the it was the first thing she said, SHOES!
[Laughs] Whenever I FaceTime her thats what she wants to see.
As always withDoctor Who, there are monsters but are they scary?
I think the storyline itself, not just the monsters, but the storyline brings a creepiness to it.
Could we see a return for your character in the future?
Possibly… [grins]
Would you want to?
If Santa and his elves have got to be involved at Christmas from hereon in then yeah absolutely.
Id love to be involved.
