Contrabands cast, then, is probably the strength of this film.
Hes charming enough and looks tough, but nottootough.
Hes in shape, but hes not a muscle head.
It helps that hes funny, and the script gives him some good jokes.
Its distinctive, and that (plus his goatee and muttonchops) make him a memorable villain.
The other characters, especially those in Farradays assembled crew, are also pretty fun.
The biggest problem withContrabandis that its a bit too long.
Its not a necessary coda, either.
There are twists upon twists and turns upon turns, and numerous complications.
To that end, director Baltasar Kormakur has some skill.

Its nothing new, but its fun.
