The best path to the Dark Tower franchise’s salvation is through television.

And I agree with him on almost every single point.
Instead, I want to talk about how Rolands journey to the Tower might be saved.
As of this writing, the movie sits at a little under $107 million worldwide.
The other three films wereDunkirkin 2nd,The Emoji Moviein 3rd, andGirls Tripin 4th.
Theres also a TV series in the works.
In a way, the TV series would give Constant Readers exactly what they wanted in the first place.

It will always astound me that the filmmakers made adaptingThe Dark Towerso hard on themselves.
There are only three main characters, just a handful of supporting characters, and a few monsters.
The movie picks up at the beginning of one of these restarts.

They want the epic saga they fell in love with.
The small screen is where the franchise belonged in the first place.
Thats why tackling Rolands story chronologically makes so much sense.
You dont need the Devar-Toi, Dutch Hill, or the Dixie Pig.
You just need some gunslinging and a good ol Western backdrop.
Were going back in the past.
Its very, very closely adhering to theWizard and Glassnovel and parts ofThe Gunslingernovel, Arcel toldIndiewire.
Which, as a fan, was exciting in a different way.
Theres plenty of material to explore in justWizard and GlassandThe Gunslinger.
Wouldnt it be too crazy a shift?
That was the issue Arcel apparently had with adaptingThe Gunslingerdirectly.
He preferred combining everything from the start.
Hes a movie star, one who has starred in some pretty big projects in the last few years.
I dont think Elbas schedule will allow for such a high episode count.
Miniseries of three episodes a pop would probably be more manageable.
