Broadchurch series two eases back into its investigation with clockwork-precise plotting and characteristically strong performances…

Warning: this review contains spoilers.

Were all hooked of course.

As was ITVs plan.

The first episode was more a mathematical achievement than anything else.

The hour reminded us a little too forcefully and too often perhaps that nobodys innocent and everybodys hiding things.

were being asked to consider whether or not Joe Miller is really Dannys killer after all.

Or at least, whether or not the evidence exists to convict him.

Colman spits out dialogue so naturally it feels as if its never even touched a page.

But needs must have a plot, I suppose, and this ones a doozy.

Everybodys hiding things, remember.

HopefullyBroadchurchs human insights wont be eclipsed by incident in the coming weeks.

It looks as though TV crime fans are in for another serious treat.
