Hatchet review

It’s not a remake. It’s not a sequel. And it’s not based on a Japanese one. But is Hatchet actually any good? Simply put,Hatchetis an awful lot of fun. And by that, I mean explosive gore and a good smattering of boobs. Thank God there wasnt. So you may ask why so enjoyable? Sorry, did I mention how much fun this movie was already? Well, it was. Although in comparison to Jason there is none of that stalking subtlety....

The Bourne Ultimatum: review

Is the hype machine right? Is The Bourne Ultimatum the summer blockbuster we’ve all been waiting for? Its not a concern, really, and nor is it anything that feels like a big cheat. It certainly put everything else seen this summer firmly firmly in the shade. Its also lean, with everything happening for a reason, and very little wasted time. Take the astonishing, really immeasurably brilliant pursuit early on in the film through Waterloo Station....

Marvel Zombies review

Zombies and Spider-Man: this covers both Sarah’s t-shirt collection, and this trade hardback. Do these two flavours really taste great together, though? How can it possibly have taken me this long to discover that aMarvel Zombiescomic existed? Which doesnt stop it being awesome. See,Marvel Zombiesis set in an alternate universe. Imagine a team of nigh-unstoppable superheroes who dont want to save the world any more. They just want to eat your brains....

Madden ’07 on the Wii review

Unless you punch the wall or something. Straight off the bat, Im going to make the obvious comment. If youre not a fan of American Football, you will not enjoy this game. They are intuitive and fun. They become second nature when you get into them. It even reacts differently if you throw it fast or slowly. Then theres the receiver action; throw your hands up at the right time to make the catch....

Transformers: our first review

We’ve a couple of DoG writers right now penning their thoughts on the new Transformers movie. Okay, maybe Singer too. So this boy loves his car? Yes, the we found this XX numbers of years ago but we kept it secret Deus Ex Machina. Such characters are so badly caricatured, even John Tuturro cant sell lines to me… The pixels look mighty pretty too and therere plenty of them; its eye-bending stuff....

Supreme Commander review

Then you should be quite excited by Supreme Commander… Remember the huge unit counts? The unique resource collection system? Well, its all here… but now its BIGGER. By bigger, I mean absolutely titting huge. Youve never seen battles like this. Each of the games three races has a fairly similar set of units, split into three tech levels. These super-units really add something new to the game. Naturally, youve got your single player and skirmish modes, along with the obligatory online support....

Command and Conquer 3 review

How good is Command and Conquer 3, though? I have to open this review by saying thatC&C3has MICHAEL IRONSIDE IN IT! Seriously, is there a better recommendation for a game than that? So the game has the Hollywood backing, but is it any good? Actually, yes it is. Visually,C&C3looks superb. It uses a slightly modifiedBattle for Middle Earth 2engine, which in all fairness, does look very sexy. Units arent exactly life-like, but this isC&C....
