Body Of Lies review

And whats any movie without a good ol romantic sub plot? Hes aided by a strong screenplay by William Monaghan (who wroteThe Departed) which ties everything together tightly. Ridley Scott has created a cracking film withBody of Lies. The, sometimes confusing, twists in the film add extra depth which I loved. And the production goes like clockwork, delivering a sheen of excellent at every turn. Rating: 4 out of 5

Call Of Duty World At War PlayStation 3 review

The frame rate resolutely stays rock solid throughout, mind, with no evidence of slow-down. As well as trying to out-doModern Warfareon gameplay alone, Treyarch has also been busy adding new features. Its also worth mentioning the aural experience thatWorld at Waroffers. Still, theres no shame in coming second best to the game of the year. Rating: 4 out of 5

14 film franchises brought back after more than a decade away

Here are some who gave it a go, and how they got on… Sadly, though, various problems quickly became apparent. Plus, bluntly, it was terrible. It proved to be box office poison, taking just $6m in the US (! ), and $32m overseas. The original had a worldwide take of $352m. Its fair to say that theres no chance ofBasic Instinct3. And this is a case where the wait really hurt the film....

Doctor Who Series 4 soundtrack CD review

It wasnt really until The Moff two-parter that the music started to interest me again. Oddly, this was the point where the fourth series started to hit its stride too. So, what do we get? Sadly, unlike the previous two soundtracks, theres no Christmas preview. There goes my bet that David Morrissey was gonna burst intoCalling Occupants Of Interplanetary CraftduringThe Next Doctor. perfectly, with some sublime (and incredibly subtle) guitar work going on in there too....

Dead Space PC review

Dead Space has been getting some terrific write-ups - but how does the PC version measure up? Just why are we in such a hurry to colonise space? If this is the future, you might keep it, chum. Unfortunately for Isaac, his missus is aboard the Ishimura, providing some emotional impetus for the coming slaughter. Needless to say, things dont go according to plan. Separated from your motley band, youre tasked with hiking through the bowels of the ship to make repairs....

Lord Of War Blu-ray review

Some have read between the lines ofLord of Warand seen satire. And thats what this film is all about. Cages Yuri Orlov character is charming, imaginative, yet trapped by his career choices. Its told in a camera-aware style, with voiceover narrative links delivered in Cages own engaging laconic drawl. Enough of the movie, whats the Blu-ray like? Unfortunately Blu-ray just highlights this and presents some artistic chromatic tinting as faults rather than style choices....

WALL·E soundtrack CD review

The way they spell the title with that period in there.WALLE. I spent a good hour and a half mashing the keys on my PC to no avail. Of course, that could be the problem Im a PC. I bet Macs have all kinds of wacky commands like that. At any rate, I just copied and pasted the title from the films IMDB listing. Thanks, Disney, for the most obnoxious movie title spelling sinceFace/Off....

10 most uncool James Bond moments

James Bond 007 has not always been the epitome of cool. And here are ten reasons why… Women want him and men want to be him. Cue Carly Simons title song, bizarrely belted out by a bunch of blokey sailors. The naval final-note comes out of nowhere and is bafflingly surreal as Cold War potboiler lurches intoPopeyeat the climax. Did no one behind-the-scenes at any point think I have a bad feeling about this?...

Die Another Day Blu-ray review

The last of the Brosnan Bond movies heads to high definition, but is Die Another Day worth it? Im going to be upfront,Die Another Dayisnt one of my favourite Bond movies. Far Cry 2 Xbox 360 review

With no returning characters or scenarios, it’s far from Far Cry. But is it far better…? This is an all-new adventure, with new characters, prefs and structure.
