Heres Paul Smiths review of the first volume… A lethal sickness has killed off billions, and amongst depleted humanity are hybrid children born with animalistic features. The Final DVD review

Not knowing who is throwing the party isnt stopping the bullies wanting to go. As each bully suffers for their actions, the threads of friendship begin to fray. The outcasts realise that this isnt what they hoped and the bullies realise that actions have consequences. Ad content continues below This is, basically, the plot ofThe Final. Deep Blue Sea Blu-ray review

Genetically modified sharks arrive in high definition! Perhaps thats why Ive ended up by request with the review disc of the Blu-ray release. Its a well-made blast, too, with a couple of really quite impressive moments that stick in mind. Plus, you cant beat the moment when Stellan Skargards arm comes off either. Thats cinema gold right there. you’re free to callDeep Blue Seawhatever you like. Im closer to the latter camp, even accepting thatDeepBlue Seais derivative, and not shy of problems....

Four Lions DVD review

If that one sentence synopsis sounds like a potentially insensitive recipe for disaster, it isnt. Four Lionsis filled from beginning to end with Morris stinging, sometimes surreal humour. Weve got women talking back. Weve got people playing stringed instruments. Its the end of days! Morris himself once described the bomb-making efforts ofFour Lionsas something out of Dads Army. But while there are plenty of uneasy laughs to be gleaned fromFour Lions, they come at a price....

The Muppet Show series 1 episode 4 review

Her comedic timing is excellent and the show really plays to her strengths. at regular intervals and cranks up the tempo, causing the rest of the band to collapse with exhaustion. Road Train DVD review

You know,Wolf CreekandStorm Warningput me off the idea of travelling to Australia. Thankfully, Craig is a tad reckless and decides to take on the road train in the Jeep. After all, a girl has dared him to do it. Theres some discussion about whether this is a good plan, but its all academic as they drive away. It also feels like a retread of so many films that have gone before....

Salt review

WhereThe A-Teamwas all fast cuts and flailing camerawork,Salts cinematography is clean and unfussy. And thanks to the sure-footed direction alluded to earlier,Salts chase is an often thrilling one. (Wait until you see it on the big screen. Its a sequence even more bizarre than it sounds.) Rating: 3 out of 5

The Eastwood Factor DVD review

The films subject, jazz legend Charlie Parker, was just 34 when he died. Its been an extraordinary career, the scale and breadth of which is captured in Warners new35/35 Collection. As a director, Eastwoods most celebrated era has been this last decade. Ad content continues below The Eastwood Factorwould seem, at first glance, an attempt to answer that question. To its credit, it isnt. There are no talking heads with his contemporaries, peers, or collaborators....

The Joneses DVD review

Warning: The following containsspoilersboth forThe JonesesandInception. I must confess, Duchovny or no Duchovny, I missed this one coming out at the cinema. Its an ordinary tale of everyday folk in a ridiculously rich American suburb. Everybody has everything they could ever want. That is, until the day that Steve (Duchovny) and Kate Jones (Moore) turn up. Because Steve and Kate have more than everything. They have things which have probably never come into your definition of everything....

Repo Men Blu-ray review

Ad content continues below That is, until Remy experiences a literal and figurative change of heart. In one sequence, a particularly untidy operation is shot and lit like a sex scene. The constant flow of gore would be more effective if the film itself wasnt such a mess. Rating: 2 out of 5

Blood River DVD review

It looks like it may have been that way for a while and things are looking grim. Ad content continues below Of course, Josephs whole plan isnt to just be mildly irritating.
